Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain declares Foundation Stone Laid for Modern Libraries in 44 Upazilas of 11 Districts

“The biggest investment in building a developed society is education and knowledge,” said Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud, who has taken the pioneering initiative of establishing libraries in every upazila of the country.

The aim of this  initiative is to spread the light of education even at the marginal level of the country and accelerate the creation of a knowledge-based society.

Advisor Asif Mahmud inaugurated the public library construction program through the Upazila Parishad at a formal ceremony held at the Secretariat today (June 19). He said,
“এই স্বপ্নে সবাইকে শামিল হয়ে জ্ঞানকেই আমাদের উত্তরণের পথ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করতে হবে।”
Translation:”We must all join in this dream and embrace knowledge as our path to salvation.”

Through this step, the scope of education and knowledge will be expanded across the country. Especially, people in remote and neglected areas will also benefit from this initiative, which will be helpful in building a well-ordered and knowledge-based society in the long run.

Civil society and educationists have welcomed the initiative, saying that it is not limited to building libraries; rather, it is a reflection of a larger vision through which the nation will move towards an educated, thoughtful, and creative future.

They believe that increasing educational opportunities and creating a free environment for the pursuit of knowledge will also accelerate the mental development of the country’s youth.

This effort to build an education and knowledge-based society is undoubtedly timely and far-reaching. It is a reflection of the current government’s commitment to enlighten the nation and guide future generations on the path of knowledge through the construction of libraries.

Analysts believe that this initiative will add a new dimension to the country’s overall human resource development and national progress.
