A mobile court has fined a petrol pump in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj for allegedly stopping sales of fuel despite having it in stock. The raid was conducted at the ‘Ms. Brothers and Sisters’ filling station located in the Baradadpur area of ​​Parbatipur union of the upazila on Friday (March 27) afternoon.

Mobile court operation

The mobile court was led by Gomostapur Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Zakir Munshi. He said,

মেসার্স ব্রাদার্স অ্যান্ড সিস্টার্স ফিলিং স্টেশনে ‘পাম্পে তেল নেই’ ব্যানার ঝুলিয়ে দিয়ে জ্বালানি তেল বিক্রয় বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়। বিষয়টি জানতে পেরে ভ্রাম্যমাণ আদালত ওই পাম্পে যান এবং তেলের মজুত যাচাই করেন। এ সময় দেখা যায়, সেখানে ২ হাজার ৩৬৮ লিটার পেট্রোল, ৩ হাজার ৭৬০ লিটার ডিজেল এবং ৩ হাজার ৬৫৫ লিটার অকটেন মজুত রয়েছে।
Translation: The sale of fuel oil was stopped at the M/s Brothers and Sisters filling station by hanging a banner saying ‘No fuel at the pump’. Upon learning of the matter, the mobile court went to the pump and checked the oil stock. At that time, it was found that there were 2,368 liters of petrol, 3,760 liters of diesel and 3,655 liters of octane.

During the inspection, a significant amount of fuel was found in the pump. This included—

  • 2,368 liters of petrol
  • 3,760 liters of diesel
  • 3,655 liters of octane

A total of approximately 9,783 liters of fuel was stored there.

He also said that the petrol pump was fined Tk 20,000 for not selling despite having stock. Such campaigns will continue in the public interest. During the operation, Parbatipur Union Chairman Moazzem Hossain and members of the law enforcement agencies were present and assisted.
