Common people want this administration to serve another 5 years: Advisor for Home Affairs

The common people of the country want this government to continue its reign for the next 5 years, said Home Affairs Advisor (Retd) General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He said this while conducting an inspection at Shantiganj Police Station in Sunamganj district in the afternoon of April 10.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “The country’s law and order situation is better than ever. We lost quite a bit of our own equipment in our police stations a few days back. We are attempting to retrieve them. If we recover the lost equipments, the country’s law and order situation will get further better.”

He reacted while answering a query by journalists about returning Sheikh Hasina. He said, “There is an agreement with India for repatriating criminals. Attempts in this regard in following what is agreed upon shall be done.”

Referring to the initiatives for development of haor agriculture, he said, “There are sufficient fallow lands in various parts of the country, even in haors. We have taken an initiative of Tk 500 crores for cultivating this land. Under which, fallow lands would be cultivated.”

Subsequently, Home and Agriculture Advisor inaugurated paddy harvesting in Deran Haor in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila. Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza Un Nabi, Sylhet Range DIG Mushfequr Rahman, Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ilias Mia and other dignitaries were in attendance.
