About 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home safely after completing the Hajj pilgrimage in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia this year. The government ensured a well-organized and smooth Hajj season.
Government Returns 8.2 Crore Taka to Pilgrims
After the pilgrimage, the Bangladesh government returned 8 crore 20 lakh taka to the pilgrims, highlighting efficient management and cost control throughout the program.

Expert Praise for Smooth Hajj Operation
Religious Advisor Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain said,
“প্রধান উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. ইউনূসের বিশেষ নির্দেশনায় এবারের হজ কার্যক্রম রেকর্ড সাফল্য অর্জন করেছে।”
“Under the special direction of Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. Yunus, this year’s Hajj program achieved record success.”
He added that timely payment of Hajj fees, affordable housing near Makkah, low-cost travel, and guaranteed medical services in Saudi Arabia were key factors behind this success.
Reduced Hajj Package Cost and New Services
The Hajj package price was reduced by 73,000 taka compared to last year. New services introduced this year include:

These innovations helped pilgrims have a more convenient and connected experience.
Ministry’s Support Beyond Hajj
Apart from Hajj management, the Ministry of Religious Affairs spent significant funds on various social and religious projects during the last year, including:

Renovation and development of nearly 3,000 mosques, over 1,000 madrasas, orphanages, Hindu temples, pagodas, and churches.

Providing 4 crore 43 lakh taka to support the poor.

Distribution of nearly 11 crore taka from the Zakat fund.
Other Ongoing Ministry Projects
The ministry also took steps for:

Imam-Muazzin Welfare Trust grants and interest-free loans.

Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs noted that the absence of political pressure and transparent management accelerated public service delivery this year. The Chief Advisor’s Council praised the ministry for this achievement.
