The interim government has no ban or objection regarding the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed on Saturday (29 November).
He posted the clarification on his official Facebook page around 5 pm.

Press Secretary Responds to Questions
Shafiqul Alam said he received questions after Tarique Rahman mentioned that returning to the country is not entirely in his own control at this moment. Said,
“জনাব তারেক রহমানের আজকের বক্তব্য যে এখনই দেশে ফেরার বিষয় সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার সুযোগ তার জন্য অবারিত ও একক নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন নয়…”
Translation: Tarique Rahman said today that the decision to return to the country is not fully open or entirely under his control at the moment…
People then asked whether the government has any restrictions on his return. He replied,
“এ ব্যাপারে সরকারের তরফ থেকে কোন বিধি-নিষেধ অথবা কোন ধরনের আপত্তি নাই।”
Translation:
There are no restrictions or objections from the government on this matter.
Yunus Expresses Concern for Khaleda Zia
The Press Secretary also mentioned that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has already expressed deep concern about the health of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
