Hajj Management Center: make Hajj easy and safe

Hajj services more comfortable, organized, and safe, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has instructed starting a “Hajj Management Center” for the nation. The order was given on Tuesday (February 25) when he was presiding over a meeting of the National Committee on Hajj Management at the state guest house, Jamuna.

He added, “Allah has given us an opportunity to organize the holy pilgrimage of Hajj. We have to utilize this opportunity. Every effort should be made so that no pilgrim faces any inconvenience.” There are 1,275 licensed Hajj agencies in the country currently. The Chief Adviser directed that the tasks of these agencies be properly documented in booklet form and uploaded online. He said, “The responsibility of the government is that these agencies perform their job well. If they fail to do it, drastic action has to be taken. The entire Hajj procedure should be simple and transparent. The roles of the government and the agencies have to be spelt out in black and white.” He also ordered special services for women and children pilgrims.

To ensure proper monitoring of services, the calls made from the Hajj Management Center call center will be analyzed. He further included, “A website needs to be created where all the Hajj pilgrims are linked. They should be able to complain, and if anybody is missing, their location can be traced through this website.” For ensuring quality of service, he undertook the survey of operation of Hajj agencies, classification according to performance, and cancellation of license in the event of malpractice. He also proposed the use of Hajj credit cards and keeping a replica of tags for baggage management.
