Handover of Administrative Responsibility

The administrative, academic and financial responsibilities of seven government colleges affiliated to Dhaka University (DU), including the information, photographs and admission test fees of students seeking admission for the 2024-25 academic year, have been officially transferred to the proposed Dhaka Central University. With this, the separation process of these colleges has been completed and they will now be run under Dhaka Central University.

The administrative, academic and financial responsibilities of the seven government colleges affiliated to Dhaka University (DU), along with the information, photographs and admission test fees of the students seeking admission for the 2024-25 academic year, have been officially handed over to the proposed Dhaka Central University authorities.

On Thursday (August 14), DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan handed over these responsibilities and information to the interim administrator of the proposed Dhaka Central University, Professor AKM Elias, at a ceremony organized at the university’s Vice-Chancellor’s conference room.

With this, the separation process of the seven government colleges from Dhaka University has been finally completed. The colleges will now be independently managed under the proposed Dhaka Central University.

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, Convener of the Online Admission Committee, officials of the concerned departments and principals of the seven colleges.

In January this year, an emergency meeting was held between the principals of the seven government colleges with DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan. On that day, it was decided that these colleges would be separated from the affiliation of Dhaka University.
