Hero Siddiqui, the last child of Ratnagarva passed away

At the age of 82, Bir Uttam Masroor-ul-Haq Siddiqui, popularly known as Kamal Siddiqui, passed from this life on Monday, October 7. Family sources have verified that he passed away at 12:08 AM while having treatment at a specialised hospital in Dhaka. Renowned poet Abu Zafar Obaidullah immortalised Siddiqui’s sacrifice of losing his eye in the Battle of Bhatiapara, and he served as a decorated freedom fighter during the 1971 Liberation War. The poem “Komoler Chokh” honours this sacrifice.

In the southwest of Bangladesh, Siddiqui was crucial for guerilla operations against the Pakistani army. Notably, on December 7, 1971, he waved the flag of independent Bangladesh in Narail first. His courage and victories were recognised with the esteemed Bir Uttam title by Bangladesh Government.
His older brother Major General M Majidul Haque was the minister of various ministries, including the government of Shahid Zia and Khaleda Zia.

Masrur-ul-Haq Siddiqui wife’s name is Syeda Rokeya Siddiqui . They have two girls.

His cousin brother BNP leader Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter for the late family.
