Hasanat Rejects Muscle Power Politics
Hasanat Abdullah, the Chief Organizer of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) for the southern region, has strongly condemned what he called “Honda-gunda politics.”
He said:
Translation: “The politics of motorbikes and gangs will not continue anymore. The days when 10 bikes and 20 goons could control elections ended on 5 August.”
He added that leadership is not about the number of supporters with muscle power but about the qualities of a leader.

Leadership Comes from Qualities, Not Gangs
Hasanat Abdullah further explained that the old way of choosing leaders through force and intimidation is over.
Translation: “The time of selecting leaders with bikes and goons is over. True leadership will come from the qualities of a leader.”
NCP Stands for Justice
At a yard meeting in Brahmankhanda village, Debidwar upazila of Cumilla, Hasanat reminded people that the NCP is built on fairness and justice.
Translation: “NCP stands for justice. If you stand for justice, then we will consider you a supporter of NCP.”
He also said that the party has no space for those who misuse power or bring crowds for dishonest purposes.
Call to Unite Against Injustice
Hasanat urged everyone at the grassroots level—villages, neighbourhoods, and unions—to unite against injustice and corruption.
Translation: “Everyone must unite in support of the truth… we must build social resistance against injustice and wrongdoing.”
He stressed that ordinary people must take a stand because political backing often allows criminals to gain power.
Criticism of Police-Politician Nexus
Hasanat accused criminals of maintaining close relations with both police and politicians.
Translation: “Those who are supposed to fight crime have good relations with the criminals… It’s not always the police’s fault, because if they don’t follow the MP’s orders, they are threatened with transfer to remote areas like Khagrachhari or Rangamati.”
Presence of Party Leaders
The meeting was attended by NCP’s central organizer Md. Arman Hossain, Debidwar upazila coordinator Jamal Mohammad Kabir, as well as many party leaders, activists, and respected local citizens.
