As the day goes covid-19 is spreading its news variant and already some countries are effected including Bangladesh. Because of this situation the Directorate General of Health Services has ordered all hospitals to prepare separate Covid beds by Saturday (14 June) to prevent new upward transmission of the coronavirus.
As the Corona Unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KHUMEC) is being reorganized, 40 beds have been prepared. At the same time, plans have been made to increase the stock of Corona detection kits and vaccines. But on Thursday (June 12), no new coronavirus cases were reported in Khulna.

Khulna Medical College Hospital Director Mohammad Mohsin Ali Farazi said,
“করোনা রোগীদের জন্য ইতোমধ্যে ৪০টি বেড প্রস্তুতি রাখা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে আইসিইউ বেড রয়েছে ১০টি। তবে এখন পর্যন্ত খুলনায় নতুন করে কোনো করোনা রোগী শনাক্ত হয়নি।”
Translation: “40 beds have already been prepared for corona patients. Of these, 10 are ICU beds. However, no new corona patients have been identified in Khulna so far.”
He said,
“আপাতত হাসপাতালে করোনা পরীক্ষার কিট নেই। খুলনা ২৫০ শয্যা জেনারেল হাসপাতাল থেকে ৬০-৭০ পিস কিট ধার করে আনা হয়েছে। যাতে কোনো ব্যক্তির পরীক্ষা করতে এসে ফিরে যেতে না হয়। ইতোমধ্যে আমরা স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরে ৩ হাজার কিটের চাহিদাপত্র পাঠিয়েছি। দু-একদিনের মধ্যে চাহিদাপত্র অনুযায়ী কিটগুলো পাওযা যাবে। তাদের সঙ্গে করোনা বিষয়বস্তু নিয়ে জুম মিটিং করছি।”
Translation: “Currently, the hospital does not have corona test kits. 60-70 pieces of kits have been borrowed from the 250-bed Khulna General Hospital. So that no person has to come and go for the test.We have already sent a requisition for 3,000 kits to the Department of Health. The kits will be available as per the requisition in a day or two. We are holding a Zoom meeting with them on the topic of Corona.”
This information was given by the director of the hospital branch of the Directorate General of Health Services, Dr. Md. Mainul Ahsan, at a press conference on the country’s coronavirus situation at the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (June 11) afternoon.
He said,
“করোনাভাইরাস প্রতিরোধ ও রোগীর চিকিৎসায় আগামী শনিবারের মধ্যে দেশের সব সরকারি হাসপাতালে সার্বক্ষণিক কোভিড-১৯ রােগীর জরুরি চিকিৎসা নিশ্চিতে আলাদা শয্যা প্রস্তুতের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।”
Translation: “To prevent coronavirus and treat patients, instructions have been given to prepare separate beds in all government hospitals in the country by next Saturday to ensure round-the-clock emergency treatment of Covid-19 patients.”
