A tragic incident took place in Kadamtala village of Hosnabad Union in Betagi Upazila of Barguna. An HSC examinee named Kawsar (18) has chosen suicide out of frustration over not getting the expected results in the English second paper examination.
Learn from family that, Kawsar was found hanging from a rope in his room late last Friday (July 4) night by his family members. He was immediately rescued and taken to Betagi Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Suicide from Depression
Kaosar was an HSC examinee in the Humanities department of Subidkhali Government College. He broke down mentally after the English second paper exam held on Thursday did not go as well as expected.
According to family and local sources, Kaosar was extremely depressed since the exam. He shared the matter with his family members several times. They tried to console him mentally, but in the end it was of no use.
Known as a talented, calm-natured boy, Kawsar was loved by everyone. The news of his sudden death has cast a shadow of grief over the entire area. Kawsar’s parents, relatives and neighbors are in tears.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Betagi Police Station Moniruzzaman Monir said,
“মৃত্যুর কারণ তদন্ত করে দেখা হচ্ছে। পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে এখনো কোনো লিখিত অভিযোগ পাওয়া যায়নি।”
Translation: “The cause of death is being investigated. No written complaint has been received from the family yet.”
