During their investigation the Tribunal established proof that demonstrates sexual violence occurred against the wife of an absent man despite fasting.
During Ramadan Alep Uddin who was a former RAB officer and ASP Additional Superintendent of Police abducted a suspect and forced his wife into sexual assault. The International Crimes Tribunal discovered this evidence. Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tazul Islam confirmed this fact on Thursday February 20th 2025.
Chief Prosecutor Islam stated that Alep Uddin led many enforced disappearance cases along with murder and torture incidents. Alep Uddin used violence against the suspect’s wife by breaking her fast which took place during Ramadan before raping her. The tribunal acquired the presented evidence.
The lead prosecutor Islam informed that Alep Uddin abducted many victims whom he held hostage for lengthy periods. During their captivity the victims suffered through multiple severe forms of abuse that included forced blindfolding and receiving electrical shocks and suspension in downhill positions.
Alep Uddin appeared before the International Crimes Tribunal together with former RAB-2 Superintendent of Police Mohiuddin Faruqi for investigations on enforced disappearances and torture on December 2, 2024. The tribunal examined the initial evidence which indicated these claims had validity.
Social media journalist Maudud Sujan published a post revealing how RAB officer Alep raped the wife of a disappeared person several times until she suffered mental breakdown and passed away. Social media users now know the extent of corruption due to this particular social post targeting RAB officials.
The International Crimes Tribunal maintains active probes into severe claims aimed at pursuing justice for victims while pursuing the accountability of responsible suspects.
