The incidents of fire in various parts of the country could be part of a conspiracy to destabilize the country, said Sarjis Alam, chief organizer (north) of the National Citizens Party (NCP). He said,
আগুন লাগার ঘটনাকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হিসেবে দেখি না
Translation: the fire incident should not be seen as an isolated incident.
He made this comment in a post on Facebook this Saturday (October 18) evening.

He wrote in his post that,
স্বৈরাচারের দোসরদের খুঁজে বের করে উপযুক্ত শাস্তির আওতায় আনতে না পারা অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের অন্যতম বড় ব্যর্থতা। যার ফল বাংলাদেশকে দীর্ঘমেয়াদে ভোগ করতে হবে।

He added that,
বিভিন্ন জায়গায় আগুন লাগাকে বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটনা হিসেবে দেখিনা। এগুলো স্বৈরাচারের দোসরদের দেশকে অস্থিতিশীল করার চক্রান্তের অংশ। তথাকথিত তদন্ত কমিটির নাটক বাদ দিয়ে এর পিছনের প্রকৃত কারণ খুঁজে বের করা হোক।
Translation: We do not see the fires in various places as isolated incidents. These are part of the conspiracy of the autocracy’s friends to destabilize the country. Let’s put aside the drama of the so-called investigation committee and find out the real reason behind it.
