The Last Tour in Melbourne
At a concert in Melbourne on Sunday evening, singer Tahsan Khan surprised fans by announcing that this would be his last concert tour. He said he has already committed to a few small events in Dhaka, but after that, he will bring his 25-year music career to an end.
‘হ্যাঁ, এটাই শেষ কনসার্ট ট্যুর… এবার সময়টা ঠিক মনে হচ্ছে।’
Translation: “Yes, this is the last concert tour… I feel this is the right time now.”
Why Leave at the Peak?
Even though Tahsan Khan is still very popular at home and abroad, he believes it is better to step away while still on top.
‘সূর্যের মধ্যগগনে থাকা অবস্থায় প্রস্থান শ্রেয়, এই বিশ্বাসে আমি বিশ্বাসী।’
Translation: “I believe it is better to leave when the sun is at its peak.”
No More New Songs
Although he has three unreleased songs, Tahsan confirmed he will not release them. Only one final track from his project Porcelina Tahsan’s Playlist might be shared.
‘তিনটা গান বানানো আছে। কিন্তু আর রিলিজ করব না… এরপর আর কোনো নতুন গান প্রকাশ করব না।’
Translation: “I have three songs ready. But I will not release them… after this, I will not publish any new songs.”

A Shift in Life Philosophy
When asked why he is leaving, Tahsan Khan said his life philosophy has changed, though he prefers not to talk about it too much.
‘জীবনদর্শনে পরিবর্তনটা মুখ্য। কিন্তু তা নিয়ে ঘটা করে কিছু বলতে চাই না।’
Translation: “The change in my life philosophy is the main reason. But I don’t want to make a big deal out of it.”
Family and Age as Factors
Tahsan Khan explained that age also played a role in his decision.
‘দাড়ি পেকে যাচ্ছে সব, এখন আর নিজের কাছেই প্রেমের গান গেয়ে মঞ্চ মাতানোটা মানানসই লাগে না।’
Translation: “My beard is turning grey, and it doesn’t feel right to sing love songs on stage anymore.”
Moving Away from Public Life
He admitted that living as a public figure is a heavy burden he no longer wants to carry.
‘পাবলিক ফিগার হিসেবে বেঁচে থাকার ভারটা অসম্ভব বেশি। তা আর নিতে চাই না।’
Translation: “The weight of living as a public figure is extremely heavy. I don’t want to carry it anymore.”
No More Social Media
Tahsan has deactivated his Facebook and Instagram accounts with millions of followers, saying social media is too toxic.
‘আমি চাই মানুষ আমাকে আস্তে আস্তে ভুলে যাক… সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে থেকে গেলে তো ভুলতে সময় লাগবে।’
Translation: “I want people to slowly forget me… If I stay on social media, it will take longer for them to forget.”
No Regrets, Only Gratitude
Tahsan says he has no regrets, only gratitude for his fans.
‘প্রত্যাশার চেয়ে প্রাপ্তি এত বেশি যে মাঝেমধ্যে বিশ্বাসই হয় না… শুধুই কৃতজ্ঞতায় ভরা জীবন।’
Translation: “What I have received is far more than I ever expected… my life is filled only with gratitude.”
A Message to Fans
Tahsan’s parting words were emotional, quoting one of his own songs.
‘ধন্যবাদ তোমায়, সুরের বন্ধু ভেবেছ, তুচ্ছ এই মানবে, কিছু খুঁজে পেয়েছ।’
Translation: “Thank you, you thought of me as a friend of music, and in this ordinary man, you found something.”
The Final Goodbye
Tahsan made it clear that this farewell is permanent.
‘অসম্ভব মিস তো করবই। কিন্তু বিদায় মানে তো বিদায়।’
Translation: “Of course, I will miss it terribly. But farewell means farewell.”
