At a street rally in Chapainawabganj on Sunday (July 6), National Citizens’ Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam warned,
“If aggression continues at the border, we will declare a long march. We will not tolerate border aggression. We will protect our border. Innocent Bangladeshis are frequently killed at the border—this is unacceptable.”
He added,
“We must bring fundamental reforms to the country. Discrimination must be eliminated from all districts. We envision a discrimination-free Bangladesh. That dream is entrusted to us by the people. In the new Bangladesh, no political party will be allowed to practice discrimination. Justice and reform are our demands.”

Speaking about past movements, Nahid said,
“After the mass uprising, we wanted a new Bangladesh. We wanted fundamental reforms of the state. We demanded justice for the perpetrators of mass killings. We called for the July Declaration and the July Charter to be implemented.”
Nahid’s statement makes it clear that the NCP stands firmly against border violence, calls for national reform, and envisions a just and discrimination-free Bangladesh.
