Details of the rally
A big rally was held at 3:30 pm on Saturday (October 18) at the city’s Kandirpar Pubali square under the initiative of the Comilla Division Implementation Committee. People from all walks of life of Comilla participated in it.

The Speech
BNP Chairperson’s advisor Haji Amin ur Rashid Yasin said,
‘কুমিল্লাবাসীর দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি কুমিল্লা বিভাগ বাস্তবায়ন। বিগত স্বৈরাচার সরকার এ দাবিকে উপেক্ষা করে বিষয়টি ঝুলিয়ে রেখেছিল। বর্তমান সরকারের কাছে আমার দাবি অতি দ্রুত কুমিল্লা বিভাগ ঘোষণা করতে হবে। অন্যথায় কুমিল্লাবাসীকে নিয়ে দুর্বার আন্দোলন গড়ে তুলব।’
Translation: “The long-standing demand of the people of Comilla is to implement the Comilla division. The previous autocratic government ignored this demand and kept the issue hanging. My demand to the current government is that the Comilla division be declared very soon. Otherwise, I will launch a fierce movement with the people of Comilla.”
He added that,
নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে বিভাগ ঘোষণা না দিলে নিজেরাই নিজেদের চিঠিপত্রে লিখে ফেলব জেলা কুমিল্লা, বিভাগ কুমিল্লা।
Translation: “If the division is not announced within the specified time, we will write in our own letter that the district is Comilla, the division is Comilla.”
