Former BBC journalist and ex-consulting editor of Prothom Alo, Kamal Ahmed, reacted to a new addition in the Cambridge Dictionary — the word “Delulu.”
In a Facebook post, he wrote:
Translation: “Some new words have been added to the Cambridge Dictionary, one of which is Delulu. Gen Z uses it to mean someone who is delusional or living in illusions. In Bangladesh, perhaps a large section of the population should now be called Delulu.”

Kamal Ahmed further noted that many people, influenced by misleading statements of some YouTubers, get excited and engage in meaningless debates both on social media and in person. According to him, in such cases, using the word Delulu would not be inappropriate.
