India Can Learn from Bangladesh’s Example
Hasnat Abdullah, the Chief Organizer of the South Region of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), has said that India should take lessons from Bangladesh on how to protect the rights of minorities.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the National Values Preservation Council at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday (October 25), Hasnat emphasized the importance of communal harmony and inclusion in nation-building.

Promise to Build Communal Harmony
Hasnat Abdullah stated that his party aims to create a peaceful and inclusive society by upholding communal diversity and reviving values in education.
“ক্ষমতায় গেলে সাম্প্রদায়িক বৈচিত্র্য ধারণ করেই দেশে সম্প্রীতি গড়ে তোলা হবে। শিক্ষাব্যবস্থায় প্রাসঙ্গিকতা ও মূল্যবোধ ফিরিয়ে আনা হবে। সাম্প্রদায়িক বৈচিত্র্য ধারণ করেই আমরা দেশে সম্প্রীতি গড়ে তুলব।”
Translation: “If we come to power, we will build national harmony through communal diversity. We will restore relevance and moral values in the education system. We will create unity while embracing diversity.”

Criticism of Sheikh Hasina’s Regime
During his speech, Hasnat Abdullah sharply criticized former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accusing her of running a fascist administration that marginalized certain groups and damaged cultural values.
“হাসিনা ফ্যাসিবাদ টিকিয়ে রাখতে তাঁবেদারদের জন্য প্রণোদনার ব্যবস্থা রেখেছিলেন। তিনি ইসলামপন্থীদের এ দেশে ঊনমানুষ বানিয়ে রেখেছিলেন।”
Translation: “Hasina maintained her fascism by offering benefits to loyalists. She dehumanized the Islamists in this country.”

Hasnat Abdullah also blamed her government for spreading harmful cultural practices with the help of Indian media.

Focus on National Unity and Moral Education
Hasnat Abdullah concluded by saying that the NCP envisions a future where communal harmony, equality, and national values are upheld through an inclusive education system and equal respect for all communities.
