India Restrains Hasina’s Political Statements
India is reportedly advising former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to refrain from making political or anti-Bangladesh remarks. The claim was made by Dr. Radha Dutta, a South Asia expert based in India, who stated that New Delhi is rethinking its relationship with Bangladesh after recent political changes.
Dr. Dutta said,
“শেখ হাসিনাকে বাংলাদেশবিরোধী বক্তব্য দেয়ার বিষয়ে ভারত সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে বার্তা দেয়া হয়েছে।”

India Reassessing Its Position on Bangladesh
According to Dr. Dutta, India has slightly shifted from its previous position regarding its policy toward Bangladesh. She added that the country is now carefully reviewing its regional strategy.
She further noted that Bangladesh needs to ensure it will not become a security threat to India in the future.
said Dr. Dutta.
“Bangladesh must give assurance that it will not become a security threat to India.”
Hasina’s Activities Under Scrutiny
Since taking refuge in India, Sheikh Hasina has been delivering her own statements regarding the interim government and the recent uprising. However, political analysts and Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus see her remarks as attempts to create instability in Bangladesh.

Despite repeated requests from the Bangladeshi government to stop her from making such comments, India had not taken visible steps until recently.
Observers have noticed that Sheikh Hasina’s activity on social media has decreased significantly in the past few weeks.
India’s Changing Stance
Former Bangladeshi diplomat Abdul Hai suggested that India’s recent moves reflect a noticeable change from its earlier stance toward Bangladesh.
He explained,
“India’s current actions indicate that it is stepping away from its earlier position.”
He also mentioned that the possibility of India handing Sheikh Hasina over to Bangladesh would depend on how the next elected government builds relations with New Delhi.
