Official Statements
While the Principal Adviser’s Press Secretary expressed confidence about Kamal’s extradition, the Foreign Adviser mentioned there is no written confirmation regarding the matter.
Shafiqul Alam said in a Facebook post:
“গত ১৫ বছরে গুম খুনের মতো ভয়ংকর অপরাধের হোতা ছিলেন কামাল।”
Translation: “Kamal was responsible for heinous crimes such as enforced disappearances over the past 15 years.”
Expert Opinion
Former diplomat Mahfuzur Rahman believes there is a strong possibility of Kamal’s extradition to Bangladesh. However, he noted that bringing back other high-profile fugitives like Sheikh Hasina would be more difficult.
