BCB Board Dissolved, New Committee Formed

The National Sports Council (NSC) has officially dissolved the board of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). At the same time, an 11-member ad-hoc committee has been formed to run cricket operations temporarily. NSC Sports Director Aminul Ahsan confirmed the decision at a press conference on Tuesday (April 7).

According to NSC, a new election for the BCB board will be held within the next three months, aiming to restore an elected governing body.

Claims from Indian Media

Meanwhile, Indian media has claimed that former BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul was removed due to his anti-India stance. According to a report by Indian Media Times Now, Bulbul’s position during his tenure created tensions.

The report also stated that during the interim government period, Bangladesh did not participate in the T20 World Cup held in India due to security concerns while Bulbul was serving as president. It suggested that this issue played a role in his removal from the position.
