According to the data of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), in the fiscal year 2020-21, about 1 thousand 700 tons of hilsa export earned 1 crore 64 million dollars. Fish is exported at 10, 6 and 8 dollars per kg depending on the size.

According to the export price, this 1000 rupees hilsa was sold in the wholesale market of Kolkata on Friday for 1600 to 1700 rupees. The value of which in Bangladeshi Taka is about 2100 Taka.
