On the day of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) election, journalist Tariqul Shibli sadly passed away while covering the event. He left behind two young children — Ayat, 4 years old, and Azmin, just 1.5 years old.
Recently, the newly elected General Secretary (GS) of Ducsu shared in a Facebook post that Islami Chhatra Shibir has donated Tk 2 lakh to support the expenses of the two children.
He wrote:
“ডাকসু নির্বাচনের দিন সংবাদ কাভার করতে গিয়ে ইন্তেকাল করেছেন তরিকুল শিবলী ভাই। তিনি রেখে গেছেন দুই সন্তান। বড় সন্তান আয়াতের বয়স চার বছর এবং ছোট সন্তান আজমীনের বয়স দেড় বছর।”
Translation: “Brother Tariqul Shibli passed away while covering the Daksu election. He left behind his two children. The elder, Ayat, is four years old, and the younger, Azmin, is one and a half years old.

He also said,
“আমরা পরিবারের সাথে প্রাথমিক সাক্ষাতে ছোট্ট দুই শিশুর খরচের জন্য ছাত্রশিবিরের পক্ষ থেকে আপাতত দুই লক্ষ টাকা পৌঁছে দিয়েছি। ইনশাআল্লাহ, আমরা সকল প্রয়োজনে সাধ্যমতো পরিবারটির পাশে থাকবো।”
Translation: “On behalf of Islami Chhatra Shibir, we have given Tk 2 lakh for the expenses of the two children. Insha Allah, we will stand by the family in every possible way.”
