Israeli Navy’s Attempt to Stop Flotilla

The Global Sumud Flotilla, carrying food and humanitarian aid for Gaza, faced repeated attempts by the Israeli navy to block its journey. However, the flotilla managed to continue and is now close to Gaza.

Wael Nawar, one of the flotilla’s spokespersons, confirmed this in a Facebook post.

He wrote:

“When we reached the Mediterranean, the Israeli navy first stopped Alma. But the other 54 ships in the fleet continued without stopping.”

Multiple Attempts to Disperse the Fleet

Nawar also said the Israeli navy detained another ship, Sirius, but again failed to stop the fleet. At one point, the navy tried to scatter the ships from different directions, but the fleet regrouped and continued toward Gaza.

He added:

“The Zionist navy tried to stop our fleet, they even detained our lead ship Alma for a while, but in the end, they failed. We are now on the way to Gaza.”
