Israel has used bombs in Gaza that are six times more powerful than those dropped on Hiroshima, according to Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine.
She made this shocking statement on Thursday (July 3) during her report at the United Nations Human Rights Council, as reported by Al Jazeera.
85,000 Tons of Explosives Used
Albanese said that Israel has dropped around 85,000 tons of explosives on Gaza in its ongoing attacks. These weapons, she added, are not only extremely powerful but have also brought huge profits to arms manufacturers supplying Israel with advanced military equipment.

She called the situation one of the worst mass killings in modern history and held Israel fully responsible for the destruction and loss of life in Gaza.
A ‘Death Trap’ for Starving Civilians
Albanese also strongly criticized the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, run by the U.S. and Israel, describing it as a “death trap”. She said this foundation is designed not to help people, but to starve and force the already weak civilians to flee or die.
Alarming Death Toll in Gaza
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, at least 118 Palestinians have been killed and 581 injured in Israeli airstrikes. Among those killed were 12 people on their way to collect aid from U.S.- and Israel-backed distribution centres.
Since October 2023, the Ministry reports that over 57,130 people have died and around 134,592 have been injured due to Israeli attacks in Gaza.
However, Francesca Albanese believes the real number of deaths is likely even higher, based on health expert estimates.
