Major General Mohammad Bagheri Dies in Strike

Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike, according to Iran’s state TV channel IRINN. Bagheri was the highest-ranking military officer in Iran and played a key role in the country’s defence strategy.

Second Senior Official Killed in Same Attack

Bagheri is the second top Iranian official to die in the same attack. According to CNN, the strike happened early today (13 June) and targeted multiple high-level Iranian military figures.

Commander of Revolutionary Guard Also Reported Dead

Earlier in the day, several Iranian state media outlets reported that General Hossein Salami, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was also killed in Israeli overnight airstrikes. Salami was another major figure in Iran’s military leadership.

Ongoing Conflict and Rising Tensions

This event has made the conflict between Israel and Iran even more serious.
The killing of two senior Iranian officials in one night is likely to increase tensions further in the Middle East.
