Jamaat Ameer Outlines Vision for Better Governance, Education, and Public Service Delivery

Speaking at a seminar titled “The Role of Community Healthcare Providers in Ensuring Normal Delivery Services at the Peripheral Level” on Sunday (30 November) afternoon, he made these remarks. The Jamaat Ameer said,

‘বিগত দিনে সরকার শুধু আশ্বাস দিয়েছে। তবে আমরা আশ্বাস নয় কাজে প্রমাণ করতে চাই। একই ভাষায় আমরা কথা বলি আমরা এক জাতি। সবার সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টায় এগিয়ে যেতে হবে।’

Translation: “In the past, the government has only given assurances. But we want to prove our commitments through action, not words. We speak the same language, we are one nation. We must move forward together through collective effort.”

Calling the people of the country inherently good, he added,

‘তবে খারাপ রাজনীতিবিদদের কারণে দেশে কিছুই হয় না। কিন্তু আমরা মূল ধরে টান দিবো।’

Translation:“But because of bad politicians, nothing progresses in this country. We will pull the system from the roots.”

Highlighting the lack of quality education in Bangladesh, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said,

‘মা বাবা নয়, সন্তান কী নিয়ে পড়াশোনা করবে তা নির্ধারণ করবে শিক্ষক। আমাদের টার্গেট সব শিশুকে গড়ে তোলা। আগামীতে বোঝা নয়, সম্পদ হয়ে উঠবে তারা।’

Translation:“Parents will not decide what a child should study, teachers will. Our target is to develop every child. They will become assets, not burdens, in the future.”

Justice now has to be bought with money, the Jamaat chief said, adding that this must be changed. He further stated,

‘আমরা সরকারে গেলে কোনো দাবি নিয়ে দফতরে দফতরে ধরনা দিতে হবে না, আন্দোলন করতে হবে না। সরকার তার দোরগোড়ায় সেবা পৌঁছে দেবে।’

Translation: “If we come to power, no one will have to stand at government offices with demands or take to the streets in protest. The government will deliver services to every doorstep.”

Even without forming a government, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman announced that Jamaat will install solar panels in 100 clinics.
