Popular Islamic speaker Mufti Amir Hamza has been nominated as the Member of Parliament (MP) candidate from Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency for the upcoming national election. He is running as a candidate from Jamaat-e-Islami.
Name Announced at District Event
His name was officially announced on Sunday, May 25, during a gathering of party members at the Abdul Wahid Auditorium in Kushtia.
The announcement was made by Mobarak Hossain, a member of Jamaat’s Central Executive Council.
Jamaat Nearing Completion of Candidate List
Mobarak Hossain said that with this announcement for Kushtia-3, Jamaat has almost completed announcing candidates for most of the 300 parliamentary seats.
He also made it clear that Jamaat-e-Islami will not accept any election unless there is progress in reform and justice processes.

He added:
“We do not want to see elections like those in 2018 or 2024 again. Our main demand is to hold elections under a caretaker government.”
Mufti Amir Hamza is Known Internationally
Speaking about Mufti Amir Hamza, Mobarak Hossain said:
“The candidate we have chosen (Amir Hamza) is not only popular in the country but is also well-known internationally.”
Event Attended by Local and Central Jamaat Leaders
The gathering was chaired by Professor Abul Hashem, the Ameer of Kushtia District Jamaat.
Mobarak Hossain also attended as the chief guest and serves as the director of the Jessore-Kushtia region.
The event was hosted by district secretary Sujauddin Joardar.
