Despite rushing him to the hospital, his father passed away on the way.

Details are given below,

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning (31 July) at the Harishpur Bypass intersection in Natore town.

A head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw left Mujibur Rahman (60), Rahid’s father, critically injured. Rahid, a reporter for the local news portal Songbad Shoili, recounted the devastating moment.

“I went to cover a road accident after getting the news, planning to go live on Facebook,” he said. “When I arrived, I saw someone badly hurt on the road. As I got closer, I realized it was my father. We immediately rushed him to Natore Sadar Hospital with the help of locals, but later he died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College.”

According to Rahid, his father had left home that morning as usual to head to Nichabazar where he sold vegetables. While passing through Harishpur Bypass, their CNG collided head-on with a speeding passenger bus coming from the opposite direction.

Officer-in-Charge Mahbubur Rahman of Jhalmalia Highway Police Station confirmed that both the bus and the auto-rickshaw involved in the accident have been seized, and legal proceedings are underway.

This tragic incident is a painful reminder of the fragile line between duty and personal life. A young reporter set out to cover a breaking story, never imagining he would be reporting the final moments of his own father’s life.
