Four vessels carrying 52,000 tons of crude soybean oil from Brazil and Argentina have arrived at Chattogram Port within four days. Imported by City, Meghna, and TK groups, the shipment coincides with a rise in bottled soybean oil prices to BDT 175 per liter.
The shipment, valued at BDT 996 crore following the price adjustment, is expected to ensure stable supply during Ramadan. Importers confirmed that refined soybean oil from this consignment will hit the market within 1–2 weeks, helping to ease potential shortages during the peak demand season.
