Veteran singer Asha Bhosle reportedly fell ill on Saturday evening. According to reports, she experienced sudden discomfort and informed a domestic worker. Soon after, she was said to have suffered a heart-related complication. Later updates from the hospital suggested she was admitted due to fatigue and a lung infection. Her granddaughter Zaynai Bhosle shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the family initially requested privacy during her treatment.

Family Confirms the News

Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed her passing on Sunday and informed the media about the final rites. He said that the public would be able to pay their last respects at her residence in Lower Parel, Mumbai, and the cremation would take place at Shivaji Park. Doctors at Breach Candy Hospital stated that she passed away due to multiple organ failure.

The death of Asha Bhosle has led to widespread grief across India and the global music community. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences, calling her a “great musical talent” and a source of inspiration for generations.
