Legal experts say that this live broadcast will enhance transparency and public accessibility in the judicial process. By opening the courtroom proceedings to the public, it aims to build greater trust in the justice system.

For the first time, formal charges filed against Sheikh Hasina and other influential figures during the Awami League government tenure are being presented before the tribunal, and the public will witness every step of this trial live.

Globally, live broadcasts of judicial proceedings are not unprecedented. From the trials of the Nazi regime, former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, to the high-profile cases like the murder of George Floyd in the United States and the trial of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, significant court cases have been aired live.

According to research, at least 21 countries worldwide regularly broadcast important trials live due to their significance and public interest. For Bangladesh, this represents a new horizon symbolizing accountability and transparency in the judicial system of a democratic nation. Experts believe that this historic live broadcast will not only impact the judiciary but also leave a profound mark on the country’s political and social history.
