BSF Members Cross into Bangladesh Territory
A team of four members of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly crossed into Bangladesh’s territory through the Zakiganj border in Sylhet and uprooted poles installed by local farmers to protect their crops.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning (November 2) in Rasulpur area of Manikpur Union, under Zakiganj upazila. A video of the event has since gone viral on social media platforms, including Facebook.

Locals Confront BSF and Force Them to Retreat
In the viral video, four BSF members can be seen entering Bangladesh by crossing the border river and removing poles set up by Bangladeshi farmers. When locals noticed and protested, an argument broke out between the two sides. As tensions rose, the BSF personnel retreated in a speedboat, leaving the area quickly.
BGB Responds Strongly, Holds Flag Meeting
Following the incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) immediately took action.
Lieutenant Colonel Md Jubayer Anwar, Commanding Officer of 19 BGB Battalion, said:
“We immediately held a flag meeting with the BSF after the incident. We strongly protested their illegal entry into Bangladeshi territory.”
He added that the BSF was issued a strict warning to prevent any such incidents in the future. BGB has also increased patrol and surveillance along the border area.

The video of the confrontation drew widespread attention on social media, with many users expressing anger over the BSF’s repeated violations of border protocol.
