Macron’s Statement on Gaza and Nobel Peace Prize
France’s President Emmanuel Macron said that if US President Donald Trump wants to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, he must end the war in Gaza. Macron made this remark on Tuesday, 23 September, according to Reuters.
In an interview with BFM Television from New York, Macron said:
“Only President Trump can put pressure to stop the war in Gaza.”
He added:
“We cannot do what Trump can because we do not supply weapons used in the war. But the United States does.”

Trump’s UN Speech
At the United Nations General Assembly, Trump gave a strong speech. He rejected proposals from Western allies to recognize a Palestinian state, saying:
“It would be a reward for Hamas.”
He also stressed:
“The war in Gaza must stop immediately. We need to start peace talks right away.”
Macron on Peace and the Nobel Prize
Commenting on Trump’s speech, Macron said:
“I see a US President who talks from the podium about solving conflicts and wanting peace, but the Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if the conflict is actually stopped.”
Nobel Nominations and Support
This year, Cambodia, Israel, and Pakistan have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump has said he deserves the award, which was given to four of his predecessors.
White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said:
“President Trump has done more for peace than the combined efforts of everyone present at the UN.”
She added:
“President Trump has done so much for global stability, which was possible by making the United States strong again.”
