According to the Bridge Authority, from 12:00 AM Thursday night to 12:00 AM Friday night, a total of 48,335 vehicles crossed the Jamuna Bridge. Eid Travel Exacerbates
Meanwhile, because of Eid travel, traffic has been even worse today, Saturday, March 29. In particular, the pressure from passengers has increased dramatically because Friday is a public holiday. There were a lot more people on the road throughout the holiday, which led to long lines and traffic congestion. At the moment, traffic is heavier on the 13.5-kilometer section between Elenga and the Jamuna Bridge. This pressure has been particularly apparent since Friday evening, and it is expected that traffic will continue to rise after lunch today.
The Bridge Authority and law enforcement authorities carry out continuous operations and surveillance to address the excessive demand for traffic. To lessen traffic on the bridge, a number of actions are being performed. Avoiding aggravation during the Eid journey may be challenging due to traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours.
