Day-long Mehndi Festival
A group of young people organized this day-long Mehndi Festival on Thursday (March 19). The event was held with underprivileged children from the Panchagarh Railway Station area. This initiative created a unique atmosphere for children to share the joy of Eid, where they spontaneously participate and enjoy the joy.
Children’s excitement
Children Noor-e-Jannat Nausin and Afroza Tahsin, who came to get their hands painted, said,
Translation: “Apura has come to give mehendi to our hands. All of us, our friends and sisters, are having a lot of fun while applying mehendi. Here, along with mehendi, they are also giving salami. We want such an event to happen every year.”
Initiatives of social organizations
It is known that this festival was organized by Stand for Change and in collaboration with Panchagarh District Volunteer Forum. The organizers and the participating young women said that they were happy to be able to bring joy to helpless and underprivileged children through this event.

Feelings of the organizers
The participating young women said,
Translation: “There is a different feeling here. I see the love and emotions of the children very closely. We are coloring the henna according to their preferences. It feels very good and we are all enjoying it very much.”
Translation: “Our organization is involved in various social works. Like every year, we are sharing joy with underprivileged children. This time, in addition to painting their hands on the occasion of Eid, Eid salami and food have been arranged. We try to be by the side of underprivileged children, so in the future, we will organize such events along with social events across the district.”
Translation: “We are working as a partner in this festival. We have been trying to stand by not only underprivileged children, but all kinds of underprivileged and helpless people. Since Eid is a day away, we are also happy to be able to bring joy to children at today’s event.”
It is learned that this is the sixth time this event has been organized around Eid like every year. In addition to painting the hands of children during the Mehndi festival, Eid salami and food are also arranged. Such initiatives are being considered as a shining example of humanity, compassion and sharing joy in the society.
