Verified Facebook Page Not Found
The verified Facebook page of journalist Elias Hossain can no longer be found on Facebook.
From Thursday (20 March) morning, users were unable to locate his verified page on the social media platform.
Posts Made a Day Earlier
Earlier, on Wednesday (19 March), Ilias Hossain made several strong Facebook posts containing allegations against different individuals and organizations.
In one of his posts, he wrote:
“আমরা প্রথম আলো ডেইলি স্টারের বিরূদ্ধে তথ্য প্রমাণ তুলে ধরার পরেও যারা প্রথম আলোর অফিসে দাওয়াতে গিয়েছে কিংবা তাদের সাথে কোনো ধরনের সম্পর্ক রেখেছে তাদের কাউকে ছাড় দেয়া হবে না। যখন সুযোগ পাওয়া যাবে তখনই উ’লঙ্গ করে দেয়া হবে। কা’ন্নাকাটি করে লাভ হবে না। আসিফ দিয়ে শুরু হলো বাই সিরিয়াল সবাই আসবে।”
Translation: “Even after we presented evidence against Prothom Alo and The Daily Star, those who visited Prothom Alo’s office or maintained any kind of relationship with them will not be spared. When the opportunity comes, they will be exposed. Crying will not help. It has started with Asif—everyone will come one by one.”

Remarks on Political Leaders
In another post, Elias Hossain mentioned senior political leaders, writing:
“মির্জা ফখরুল এবং তার ঘর জামাইকে এই মাসের মধ্যেই ধরা হবে! ফিল্ডওয়ার্ক শেষ এডিটিং বাকি। ফখরুল কীভাবে বিএনপির মহাসচিব থাকে দেখে নিবো ইনশাআল্লাহ। তারেক রহমানকে খাম্বা তারেক বানানোর কারিগর প্রথম আলোর সাথে তার মাখামাখির কাফফারা দিতে হবে।”
Translation: “Mirza Fakhrul and his son-in-law will be caught within this month. Fieldwork is done, only editing remains. We will see how Fakhrul remains the BNP Secretary General, InshaAllah. Those who turned Tarique Rahman into ‘Khamba Tarique’ will have to pay for their closeness with Prothom Alo.”
Here, he referred to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and Tarique Rahman.
Allegations Against Media Outlets
Ilias Hossain also made serious allegations against Prothom Alo and The Daily Star. In a post, he wrote:
“প্রথম আলো ডেইলি স্টার নিয়ে আমরা ফান করি নাই। এই দেশকে পৃথিবীর কাছে জ’ঙ্গি হিসেবে তুলে ধরেছে প্রথম আলো ডেইলি স্টার। হাজারও আলেমকে গু’ম খু’ন করেছে তারা। তাদের আশেপাশে যারা যাবে তাকেই ধরা হবে। চু’রি করেন কিছু বলবো না ইন্ডিয়ার বিষয়ে জিরো টলারেন্স।”
Translation: “We are not joking about Prothom Alo and The Daily Star. They have portrayed this country as extremist to the world. Thousands of Islamic scholars have been disappeared and killed because of them. Anyone who goes near them will be caught. Theft is tolerable, but there is zero tolerance regarding India.”
Claims About Interview Process
In another post made on the same day, Elias Hossain alleged irregularities in an interview process, naming several individuals and locations. He wrote that interviews began after 11:00 am on 15 March and continued throughout the day.
No Official Statement Yet
As of now, there has been no official statement from Facebook or from journalist Ilias Hossain regarding why his verified page is no longer accessible.
