Missile Attack Hits Haifa Oil Refinery

An oil refinery in northern Israel has reportedly been struck in a missile barrage originating from Iran and Lebanon, according to Israeli media. The incident marks the second attack on the facility since the escalation of the US–Israel–Iran conflict, which began last month.

Israeli media identified the targeted facility as the Bazan Group refinery, also known as the Bazan oil refinery, located in Haifa. The strike occurred on Monday, triggering a fire at the site, with large plumes of black smoke visibly rising over the surrounding area.

Fire Contained, No Casualties Reported

Authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control. Eitan Rifa, a fire commander, stated that the incident had been “fully contained,” emphasizing that there were no casualties, no hazardous material risks, and no danger posed to the public.

The refinery’s operator, Bazan Group, also confirmed that no injuries were reported. The company described the event as a missile strike that hit the roof of a distillates tank.

Uncertainty Over Source of Attack

It remains unclear whether the blaze resulted from a direct missile impact or falling debris. Additionally, there has been no immediate confirmation regarding whether the missile was launched from Iran or from Lebanon.

Iran and its regional allies, including Hezbollah, have been conducting missile and drone strikes across the Middle East, targeting what they describe as United States and Israeli interests.

Escalating Regional Conflict

The latest strike comes as the US–Israel–Iran conflict continues into its fifth week, showing no signs of de-escalation. Despite mounting international concern and ongoing diplomatic efforts, the conflict persists, raising fears of broader regional instability.
