The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Mohammad Kabir, a close associate of Faisal Karim Masud, in connection with the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha. The arrest was made in Narayanganj on Monday evening.
RAB’s Director of Law and Media Wing, Wing Commander M Z M Entekhab Chowdhury, confirmed the arrest. He said that Kabir has been handed over to Paltan Police Station for further investigation.

Connection to Hadi’s Attack
RAB sources said that a few days before the incident, Kabir had visited the Inquilab Cultural Center established by Hadi along with Masud Karim at Banglamotor.
The shooting took place on Friday, a day after the national election schedule was announced, on Box Culvert Road in Old Paltan, Dhaka. Hadi was shot in the head while sitting in a rickshaw, and his condition remains critical. Today, he has been sent to Singapore for advanced medical treatment.
A few days before the incident, Kabir went with Masud Karim to Hadi’s established Inquilab Cultural Center in Banglamotor.
