A mother dies in plane crash.Umme Habiba Rajoni (37) tragically lost her life while going to bring her daughter home from school. She was the daughter of Abdul Hamid, a local BNP leader from Motmura Union in the Gangni upazila of Meherpur, and the wife of Jaharul Islam, a businessman from Sajipur village in the Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia district.
Rajoni had been living in Uttara, Dhaka, with her husband, who works there. Their only daughter, Jhumjhum Khatun (12), is a fifth-grade student at Milestone School and College.
On Monday, Rajoni was killed in a tragic aircraft crash in Uttara. Her body reached her ancestral home early Tuesday around 4 a.m., plunging the Baut village of Motmura Union into deep mourning.

Her mother, siblings, and neighbors broke down in tears. Later, her body was taken to her in-laws’ house in Sajipur village, Daulatpur upazila, Kushtia, for burial.
According to family sources, on the day of the incident, Rajoni had gone, as usual, to pick up her child from school. Suddenly, a training aircraft crashed near them, severely injuring Rajoni on the spot. She was rushed to the Burn Unit of Dhaka CMH, where she later died while undergoing treatment.
Family members confirmed that she would be buried in Char Sajipur village in Daulatpur, Kushtia. Her daughter, Jhumjhum, sustained serious injuries but fortunately survived. After receiving initial treatment, the child is now staying with her family.
