Bangladeshi cricketing great Mushfiqur Rahim has drawn the curtain on his One Day Internationals (ODIs) career today, marking the end of an era in his illustrious career. Mushfiqur, still as devoted and determined as ever, has been a household name in Bangladesh cricket history for almost two decades.
Emerging as a young wicket-keeper batsman, Mushfiqur’s career is full of major accolades:
ODI Career: He played 274+ games and scored 7,795 runs at a 36.42 average with 9 hundreds and 49 fifties. His ODI best score is 144.
Test Cricket: He played for the country in 94 Tests, scoring 6,007 runs at 37.77 with 11 hundreds and 27 fifties. His highest Test score is an unbeaten 219.
T20 Internationals: Prior to his retirement from T20Is in September 2022, he had played 102 games, scoring 1,500 runs.
Other than statistics, the leadership qualities of Mushfiqur shone through. He led Bangladesh in different formats, taking the team through critical phases and inspiring generations to follow.
