National Leaders to Join the Eid Congregation at National Eidgah

The Interim Government’s Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, will perform the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer at the National Eidgah. As in previous years, President Md. Shahabuddin is also expected to join the congregation.

Official Confirmation

Dr. Yunus’s Senior Assistant Press Secretary, Fayez Ahmed, confirmed this information. He stated that Dr. Yunus would offer his Eid prayer at the National Eidgah, located in the High Court area of Dhaka. After the prayer, he will return to his office in Tejgaon and later in the afternoon, exchange Eid greetings with people from different professions.

Settings and Preparation

Administrator Md. Shahjahan Mia of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) gave a press conference on Saturday morning regarding the plans and timetable for the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah. He said that every preparation had been done to guarantee a successful and orderly prayer gathering. He added that it is probable that the Chief Adviser and the President will both attend the Eid prayer at the National Eidgah.

Prayer Schedule

DSCC has announced that the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah will be held at 8:30 AM. If the weather remains favorable, the prayer will proceed as scheduled. However, in case of unfavorable weather, the main Eid prayer will be held at 9:00 AM at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

Facilities and Safety

At the National Eidgah, some 35,000 worshippers will be able to join in prayer. Sufficient security precautions have been implemented to guarantee a seamless experience. To ensure safety and order, law enforcement officers will be on duty. The prayer ground will also have access to medical personnel, entrance gates, and water facilities.

The National Eidgah’s annual Eid prayer fosters a joyous atmosphere by uniting both well-known figures and regular worshippers to enjoy the holiday. This year, the same attitude is anticipated.
