National Revolutionary Council: A New Era of Political Change in Bangladesh

A new political party called the National Revolutionary Council has been launched from the Central Jamia Mosque of Dhaka University. The founders claim their party is the first political organization to represent the students and people who played a crucial role in the 24th February Uprising. With an unwavering commitment to dismantling fascism and establishing a new constitution, the party is set to lead a powerful movement for change. They have boldly announced that if their demands are not met, they will ignite a fresh uprising in 2025.

The official launch of the party took place on December 16, 2024, with a prayer ceremony at the Central Mosque, followed by an inspiring procession. Leading the march were Ainun Nahar, the mother of Shaheed Naima Akter, and Mohammad Shafiur Rahman, the organizational head of the party, along with over a hundred passionate members. Chanting powerful slogans such as “Naraye Takbeer,” “Allahu Akbar,” “Power for the People, Not the Government,” “No Compromise, Only Struggle,” and “Dhaka, Not Delhi, Dhaka,” the procession culminated at the iconic Central Shaheed Minar, where a brief but impactful rally took place.

The event saw the presence of prominent leaders such as Zakir Majumder, Rotarian Rabiya Akter, Syed Kutub, Abdus Salam, Hasan Arif, Engineer Imamul Haque, Dr. Zahidul Islam, Mohammad Rashidul Islam, Imam Sadiq Adnan, Zainal Abedin, Ahmed Mofazzal, Kausar Ahmed, and many others. Also present were key figures from the Revolutionary Student Council, including its Convenor Abdul Wahed, General Secretary Fazlur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Yamin Sarkar, along with the convenors and secretaries of various branches, including Dhaka University and Bangladesh Islamic University.

This powerful launch marks the beginning of a bold and determined movement for change—one that promises to shake the political landscape of Bangladesh and lead the way for a brighter future.
