NCP Issues Show-Cause Notice to 5 Top Leaders Among Hasnat and Sarjis

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has sent show-cause notices to five senior leaders, including Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam. The notice was officially signed and published on Wednesday (6 August 2025) by Saleh Uddin Sifat, the NCP’s Joint Member Secretary (Office).

Names of the Leaders Who Got the Notice

The leaders who received the notice are:

  • Nasiruddin Patwari – Chief Coordinator

  • Sarjis Alam – Chief Organizer (North Zone)

  • Hasnat Abdullah – Chief Organizer (South Zone)

  • Tasnim Zara – Senior Joint Member Secretary

  • Khaled Saifullah – Joint Convener

Why Was the Notice Given?

According to the notice, these five leaders went on a personal trip to Cox’s Bazar on 5 August, but they did not inform or take permission from the Political Council or any relevant authority in advance.

The notice:

“এই সফর সংক্রান্ত কোনো তথ্য বা ব্যাখ্যা ‘রাজনৈতিক পর্ষদ’ বা সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তিকে আগে থেকে অবগত করা হয়নি।”
“No information or explanation about this trip was shared beforehand with the Political Council or relevant persons.”

Party Orders Urgent Explanation in Person

The notice has clearly mentioned that within 24 hours, all five leaders must appear in person before Party Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and submit a written explanation about the reason and context of their decision to go on this trip.

The notice:

“আগামী ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে এসব নেতাকে এই সফরের সিদ্ধান্তের কারণ প্রেক্ষাপট সম্পর্কে দলের আহ্বায়ক নাহিদ ইসলাম ও সদস্য সচিব আখতার হোসেনের সামনে সশরীরে উপস্থিত হয়ে লিখিত ব্যাখ্যা দিতে বলা হয়।”
“Within the next 24 hours, these leaders must appear before Party Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and submit a written explanation regarding the reason and background of this trip.”
