Why the Minister Was Removed
In Kathmandu, Nepal PM Balendra Shah has dismissed Labour Minister Dipak Kumar Sah.
The decision came after serious allegations that Sah misused his position. He was accused of helping his wife get a job at the Health Insurance Board, which raised concerns about fairness and abuse of power.
Party’s Recommendation Led to Action
The ruling party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, played a key role in this decision. Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane officially wrote to the prime minister, asking for Sah’s removal. He stated that Sah’s actions were against the party’s rules and ethical standards.
Internal Investigation Findings
According to the party’s internal disciplinary review, Sah was directly involved in appointing his wife to a position in the Health Insurance Board. The position had reportedly been inactive for a long time, making the appointment even more questionable. The party concluded that this act damaged its image and showed a lack of commitment to fair governance.
In its letter, the party referred to its own rules that allow it to take action against members who misuse their power. According to the party constitution, if someone abuses their power, the party has the right to recall them.

The decision was supported by documents from the party’s disciplinary commission. The party said this action shows its strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance in Nepal.
