Early Life Struggles
Arnav Hasan grew up in Alipur village, Bagha, near the Padma River. His father, Suntu Islam, worked as a farmer and rickshaw driver, while his mother, Chinuara Begum, focused on educating their three children. Despite their financial struggles, they ensured that Arnav and his siblings received a good education.
Arnav recalled a childhood incident that inspired his medical career:
Translation: “One day while playing cricket, my left elbow dislocated. There was no one to take me to the hospital. My mother carried me, crying, to the hospital. At that moment, I decided I would become a doctor when I grew up.”

Education Amid Financial Hardships
Arnav’s schooling years were full of financial difficulties. He often went without meals and had to manage hostel expenses by cutting meals and helping with market tasks. Despite these challenges, he excelled academically:
- Passed SSC with GPA-5 without private tuition.
- Studied in Rajshahi New Government Degree College for HSC while supporting himself financially.
- Won scholarships, including the Dutch-Bangla Bank scholarship, which helped him continue medical studies.
Journey to Medical Success
Arnav passed the MBBS exam on July 9, 2025, and immediately focused on the BCS exam. With only seven days for preparation, he excelled in both written and viva exams. After his viva on September 4, 2025, he called his mother and father:
Translation: “Right after the viva, I called my father and told him, ‘From today, you won’t have to drive a rickshaw anymore.’”

Commitment to Serve Humanity
Arnav’s personal hardships shaped his mission to serve others. He said:
Translation: “As a doctor, my life’s vow will be to serve humanity. I have experienced the pain of people’s helplessness personally, and I will try my best to help them.”
