Anisa Ahmed, a student of Laboratory School and College, could not attend her HSC Bangla First Paper exam at Government Mirpur Bangla College center due to being one hour late. Although social media posts claimed her delay was due to taking her mother, who suffered a stroke, to the hospital, official investigations did not support this claim. Education authorities have confirmed there will be no special arrangement for her to retake the exam.
Incident at the Exam Center
On 26 June 2025, the first day of the HSC exam, Anisa arrived at her exam center nearly one hour late. As a result, she was not allowed to sit for the Bangla First Paper exam.
A photo of her crying in front of the centre went viral on social media, sparking widespread sympathy. Posts claimed that she was late because her mother had a major stroke and she had to take her to the hospital herself.
Initial Promise and Official Decision
Following the viral posts, Education Advisor Professor Choudhury Rafiqul Abrar reportedly said arrangements would be made for her to sit for the exam later.
However, after discussions with the Ministry of Education and the Dhaka Education Board, it has been confirmed that no such decision has been made, and there is no possibility of this happening in the future.

Investigation Findings
Multiple sources from the ministry and the board stated that the incident was not exactly as presented on social media.
Two separate investigation teams from Dhaka Board submitted reports based on the ministry’s directive, finding no proof to support Anisa’s claim.
Board’s Statement
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir said:
“এ বিষয়ে আমাদের কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত নেই। যে বিষয়ের পরীক্ষা দিতে পারেনি, সেই পত্রে যদি ৬৬ নম্বর পায়, তাহলেই সে পাস করবে।”
“We have no decision on this matter. If she scores 66 marks in the subject she missed, she will pass.”
Anisa’s Response
Attempts to contact HSC Girl Anisa via her phone number went unanswered.
