Millionaire Accounts Increase

In Bangladesh, the number of bank accounts with deposits over Tk 1 crore has grown significantly within just three months. According to the latest Bangladesh Bank report, by the end of March 2025, there were 121,362 such accounts. By June 2025, the number had increased to 127,336. Who Are These Millionaires?

Officials from Bangladesh Bank explained that millionaire accounts do not always represent wealthy individuals.
Many of these accounts belong to government organizations, private institutions, and business enterprises that deposit more than Tk 1 crore. Moreover, one person or institution can open multiple bank accounts, meaning the same millionaire may hold several crore-level accounts.
