Once a Political Hub, Now a Public Toilet: The Fall of Awami League’s Office

The ten-story Awami League central office in Gulistan, once a proud symbol of political power, is now in a state of complete neglect. Once a busy and important building, it has fallen into disrepair. The ground floor has turned into a public toilet, with a foul stench making it unbearable for anyone to pass by.

Inside, the building is even worse. Burnt papers, broken glass, and discarded drug bottles are scattered across the floors. The furniture has been stolen, and local rickshaw puller Solaiman says people have even started cutting away parts of the building’s metal rods.

What was once a hub for political activity has now become a place for antisocial behavior. The lack of security and basic maintenance has led to its rapid decline. Residents are concerned about the ongoing decay, as the building is no longer being looked after.

The Awami League central office in Gulistan is now a complete disaster. It’s like the building gave up on life – everything’s been stolen, parts of it are being chopped up, and the ground floor is a public toilet. A political powerhouse turned into a free-for-all!
