Political Analyst Expresses Concern Over Unrest
Political analyst and talk show host Zillur Rahman has said that the current situation in Bangladesh is not peaceful. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he expressed concern that instability is being deliberately created within the country.
Call for Peace and Respect for Dr. Muhammad Yunus
Zillur Rahman referred to Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, saying it is not wrong to expect peace from a person like him.
“দেশের পরিস্থিতিটা খুব একটা শান্তিপূর্ণ নয়। প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস যিনি শান্তিতে নোবেল পেলেন তার কাছে শান্তি চাওয়াটা কি খুব একটা অন্যায়? উনি ভালো মানুষ। উনি আমাদেরকে সম্মানিত করেছেন।”
Translation: “The country’s situation is not very peaceful. Is it wrong to seek peace from Professor Muhammad Yunus, who received the Nobel Peace Prize? He is a good man who has brought us honor.”
He added that while Dr. Yunus may have failed in some areas, Bangladesh must still find a place to begin again.
“ফেসবুক, হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ, ইনস্টাগ্রাম—আজই শিখে ফেলুন ৫০ টাকায় ৫০ হাজার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে যাওয়ার গোপন কৌশল!”
Warning Against Creating Instability
Rahman warned that provocative statements from various groups could harm the country’s stability and political peace.
“ভেতরে এক ধরনের অস্থিরতা তৈরির চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে… আমরা মোটেই বোঝার চেষ্টা করি না।”
Translation: “An effort is being made to create unrest from within… We do not even try to understand the consequences.”
He acknowledged that many—politicians, police officers, journalists, businesspeople, and members of civil society—have committed crimes. But, he said, justice must come through a proper legal process, not chaos.
Opposition to One-Sided Election
Zillur Rahman also criticized efforts to push for a one-sided election, saying it would only push the country into danger.
“কোনোভাবেই এই অস্থিতিশীলতা একসেপ্টেবল নয় যে, একটা ওয়ান সাইডেড ইলেকশন করার মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশকে বিপদের মধ্যে ফেলে দিতে চাই।”
Translation: “This instability is in no way acceptable; we should not endanger Bangladesh by holding a one-sided election.”
He admitted that many Awami League leaders or ministers might have committed crimes, but that does not mean everyone in the party is guilty.

Need for a Fresh Start
Rahman reminded that the people rejected Awami League’s misrule from 2009 to 2024 through a mass uprising, but citizens should still have the right to choose their representatives freely.
“অপরাধ করলে অপরাধের বিচার করেন… ট্রুথ অ্যান্ড রিকাউন্সিলেশনের একটা জায়গা তৈরি করা দরকার।”
Translation: “If a crime is committed, bring justice. But we must create a space for truth and reconciliation.”
He concluded by urging that Bangladesh must begin anew through a fair process that values justice, peace, and democratic choice.
